Making Healing Accessible Through Horses
At Temekunga Farms, we’re dedicated to making our programs accessible to everyone. Providing our services takes time, care, and financial support. Our horses require safe housing, daily feeding, gentle handling, and consistent hoof and veterinary care to stay happy and healthy.

Off-Site Visits
Each off-site visit requires a minimum three-hour commitment and the help of one to two team members. Our miniature horses are thoroughly groomed, transported in a specially equipped van, and spend about an hour at each facility.

On-Site Experiences for Children
Our on-site programs include nutritious snacks and drinks, interactive one-on-one time with our miniature horses, and engaging activities like obstacle courses and educational games. These experiences are designed to support psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and communication development.

Hugs Programs (off-site)
Our Hugs for Seniors and Hugs for Children programs bring immediate and meaningful joy to the lives of those we visit.
Many care facilities and schools lack the funding to provide equine-assisted experiences—but with your support, we can reach more seniors and children who need it most.

Hippocrates Program (on-site)
The Hippocrates Program offers children with unique support needs sensory and tactile experiences through activities such as brushing, petting, and hugging the horses. These and other interactions can be instrumental in improving physical abilities such as muscle tone, mobility, and posture. The Program also promotes psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and communication development by encouraging children to relate appropriately to the horses.

Somatic/Nature Therapeutic Experiences with Horses (on-site)
The Somatic/Nature Therapeutic Experience Program offers adults a unique opportunity to connect with horses, develop practical tools to prevent burnout, and restore balance to the nervous system.
Professionals in high-stress jobs and caregivers often face immense emotional, physical, and mental demands that can lead to chronic stress and burnout. Access to programs that focus on nervous system regulation, emotional grounding, and moments of connection—such as somatic or equine-assisted therapies—can be life-changing.
